Meet the coffee collection, a dark (espresso) coloured flowerpot made with… coffee waste! We drink billions of cups of coffee each year. However, only a fraction of the coffee bean actually ends up in your cup of coffee. The rest of the coffee grounds are usually thrown away and end up as household waste. This waste is often incinerated, creating CO2 emissions that harm the environment.
At elho, we love turning valuable waste streams like coffee grounds into beautiful designer plant pots. So we're collaborating with Coffee Based; they collect used coffee grounds from companies and process them. Together we give it a new purpose and show off the beauty of coffee waste. Each pot in the collection contains grounds from at least three cups of coffee. You can see and feel the texture of the coffee grounds that go into each pot and smell them, too!

The beauty of coffee waste

Natural look & feel
Each flowerpot of the coffee collection contains at least 3 cups of coffee worth of waste. The use of coffee grounds in the coffee collection pots is clearly visible in colour, texture and smell, which gives the pot a natural look and feel.

Green, greener, greenest
These beautiful flowerpots are not only very sustainable since we prevent unnecessary co2 emissions by incinerated coffee waste, but these pots are also made from 100% recycled materials, 100% recyclable and is produced with wind energy.

At elho, we are always searching for using valuable waste streams to make beautiful designer pots. Our newest coffee collection flowerpots are made with coffee grounds. Billions cups of coffee are drunk every year, which adds up to millions kilo of coffee grounds. Most of this waste end up in residual waste processing every year. By using it to make beautiful flowerpots, we can avoid waste incineration and the related Co2 emissions, which is good for nature. And it also gives us the chance to show you the beauty of (bio) waste.
