Plant information

General

Hydrangeas are among the best known indoor and outdoor plants. Hydrangeas are often also called hortensias. With their sweet scent and full flower heads,  Hydrangeas are a true colour sensation. The star-shaped flowers brighten up both your living room and your garden. And if you take good care of this plant, you will be able to enjoy its blooms for years to come.

Care

Hydrangeas have some essential requirements. Plenty of water, the right soil composition and proper pruning is the price to pay if you want to enjoy the beauty of this plant. For best results, use special hydrangea soil and plant food. For the plant to keep its shape, annual pruning may be necessary.

Placing

Hydrangeas do great in pots. The plant does require lots of sun. If you place the Hydrangea in full sun, it is important to give it plenty of water. If the plant gets too much sunlight, brown edges will appear on the flowers and leaves.

Propogation

Repot the Hydrangea immediately after purchase or in the spring. And the Hydrangea can also be propagated by cutting a nice sized stem and placing it in a small plastic bag and then in propagation soil.
