Plant information

General

Long stalks with bright blue flowers; it’s not hard to see why the delphinium elatum is so popular with both people and butterflies. The abundance of happy little flowers turn every corner of your garden into a colourful plant feast, and always attract many beautiful butterflies. Because the plant can grow to be quite tall, make sure you help him grow with the support of a growing stick or a wall to keep him from falling over.

Care

Delphiniums enjoy slightly moist soil at all times, so water your plant two or three times a week in the summer. Water from sprinklers makes the flowers sag, so make sure you only water the soil. Add some fertiliser to the water once a month to help your plant grow.

Placing

A sunny spot with direct sunlight is perfect for this happy plant, but he can handle a bit of shade as well.

Propogation

You can repot your plant immediately after purchase, or once every two years in the spring. Your plant will love its fresh soil and might just grow even faster.
