Plant information

General

Looking for a subtle and minimalistic plant that will still give your home that comforting urban jungle vibe? Look no further: the cordyline australis is here to satisfy all your plant needs! Also known as the cabbage tree, this funky-leaved plant looks a bit like a palm tree small enough to fit in your living room. Originally from New Zealand, the cordyline is fine living outdoors during the summer months. He might not survive a European winter though, so make sure to bring him inside come fall.

Care

As a tropical plant, the cordyline enjoys lots of humidity, so keep the soil moist (but not soaking wet!). A good misting every now and then is also much appreciated.

Placing

Your cordyline will feel most at home in a bright or partial shade spot in your house or garden. Avoid direct sunlight. If your plant is in the garden or out on the balcony, make sure to bring him inside when temperatures drop below freezing.

Propogation

Cordylines are fast growers, so make sure you repot your plant to a larger pot at least once a year.
