Plant information

General

A small but tough little plant, perfect for newbie gardeners. The pieris japonica ‘little heath’ is a strong, heather-like shrub with lots of pretty characteristics. The plant has a pink, white and green hue come spring, but slowly changes colour to dark green over the summer and fall. If you take care of the plant well enough, you might just spot some pretty white flowers in the spring.

Care

The pieris japonica enjoys some moist soil, but doesn’t like to get his feet wet. Water the plant about two or three times a week, and make sure the soil drains well. If you really want to make your plant happy, place him in rhododendron soil.

Placing

Place the plant in a partial shade or dark corner of the garden. This plant does well in gardens and on balconies without much sunlight. Don’t worry about moving your plant inside once winter rolls around, this perennial will survive the colder months.

Propogation

Repot the plant after purchase. If he’s a quick grower, repot him again into a slightly larger pot during spring.
