Plant information

General

No indoor jungle is complete without a banana plant. Its huge, lush green leaves remind us of a tropical island filled with exotic plants and fruits, but don’t expect your plant to start sprouting bananas any time soon. It’s alright though, even without the fruit the plant is gorgeous enough for any interior.

Care

As a tropical plant, the banana plant loves humidity and lots of sunshine. The plant requires a little more attention than usual, but trust us, he’s worth it. Water your plant about twice a week on average, more in the summer. Check the soil daily on hot days, you might have to water your plant every day with higher temperatures. Do make sure your plants’s roots never have to sit in water for too long. Mist your plant with a sprayer twice a week.

Placing

Sun, sunny, sunniest: the banana plant enjoys his sunlight! Avoid strong afternoon sun, too much direct sunlight could burn the leaves.

Propogation

Repot your plant in the spring or directly after purchase. Since the plant grows super fast, you’ll probably have to repot him to a bigger pot every year.
