Why not have a botanical garden in your kitchen? Mork Ulnes Architects transformed this old shed in California, now used as an artist studio, into a bright green indoor jungle. There’s even a small tropical garden in the middle of the kitchen!

Most hotel lobbies are just miserable affairs, but Hotel Jakarta in the Java-eiland neighbourhood in Amsterdam is a welcome exception. Together with the city’s Hortus Botanicus, the hotel created a subtropical indoor garden with giant palm trees and other gorgeous, tropical plants. The combination of the lush plants with the hotel’s wooden interior is absolutely stunning. Can we move in please?
